You have to keep their ambient always fresh, sparing them from the heat, because it can cause heat stroke. Car rides must always be supervised and physical activities are not at all recommended, because of their bad breathing that makes them tired very quickly.

Eye care as well as fur/skin care must be constant. Their eyes are very exposed and easy to hurt while playing. Their coat tends to shed a lot, and that is why it's important to always brush them. Baths must be monthly, to avoid skin problems. Their face wrinkles should be cleaned at the very least once a week.

Breeding pugs demand special cares from the breeding up until the puppies' first month. Pugs are a very difficult breed to mate, always requiring someone already used to the breed and experienced to assist. Whelping always depends on human health. In case the bitch has difficulties of self whelping, they need help to remove the placenta and cut the umbilical cord. The need of a c-section is not rare. After birth, the puppies often need help at being nursed. It is wise to only leave puppies with their moms at breastfeeding times, because they can be very clumsy... As they get older, puppies can experience life alongside with grown pugs. A lot of care and effort are put into having a litter successfully. Professional guidance is always necessary.

On the other hand, watching puppies grow is fascinating! When they start playing among themselves and interacting with the owner, everything is a party!

All in all; pugs are special in everything! One can only know what it's like to live life alongside a pug if one's had the luck of living with one!
